Acting as an impartial technical expert, Technica Measurement recently supported a major UK gas distribution network by providing independent witnessing services to the networks own technicians as they completed a measurement system validation to the ME2 standard on one of their offtakes.
Over a two-day period on site, the Technica Measurement metering consultant provided oversight and technical validation of the technicians adherence to their own validation procedures as well as confirming the accuracy of the overall flow measurement system. The output of the service was the issue of an Independent ME2 Witness Report which forms part of the overall measurement accuracy records for the particular site.
Consultant engineer and Technical Director for Technica Measurement, Marc Baynham said “It was fantastic to get out on site and provide this service to the client and demonstrate what is a core competence of our business”.
Richard Law, managing director of Technica Measurement commented “I am really pleased that we have been able to undertake this work on behalf of a major network operator and I hope they are delighted with the service we provided and the quality of the report we produced”.
Verification and audit works such as independent witnessing is one of the key themes which Technica Measurement are able to offer to measurement asset owners and operators.
