In this role, you won’t simply maintain equipment — you’ll safeguard the performance and reliability of systems that are essential to critical energy infrastructure.   • Deliver planned and corrective maintenance to meet client targets for SHE, cost, availability and quality.

  • Identify potential faults before they become failures.

  • Diagnose root causes and implement robust, lasting solutions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment and processes.

  • Represent Technica Measurement professionally on client sites.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair analytical equipment.

  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance safely and efficiently.

  • Promote predictive and preventative maintenance practices.

  • Investigate equipment faults and determine root cause.

  • Implement repairs and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure correct spares are available and flag shortages early.

  • Accurately document all work and highlight any procedural or drawing discrepancies.

  • Maintain full compliance with health, safety and industry standards.

  • Participate in system and equipment improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

Essentials

​

  • HNC / NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline (or equivalent industry experience).

  • Experience working within Oil & Gas industry rules, procedures and standards.

  • Strong commitment to health and safety.

  • Clear and professional communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

  • Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure.

  • Proficiency with common IT systems (email, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas including offshore.

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Desirable Experience / Certifications
 

  • Experience with Gas Chromatographs, Oxygen & Moisture Analysers, Infrared Analysers, Tuneable Diode Laser (TDL) systems, Combustion Control systems, pH & Conductivity systems, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), and associated sample handling systems.

  • CompEx (01–04) certification.

  • Swagelok Small Bore Tube Fitting Installation certification.

This role isn’t just about installation, calibration, maintenance or repair — it’s about ensuring the availability, accuracy and integrity of critical instrumentation that supports complex operational environments.

​

  • Deliver planned and corrective maintenance activities to meet client targets for safety, reliability, cost, availability and quality.

  • Perform calibration, testing and fault-finding on a wide range of instrumentation and control equipment.

  • Identify potential issues before they develop into equipment failures or process disruptions.

  • Diagnose faults, determine root causes and implement robust, long-term solutions.

  • Support commissioning, loop checks and system verification activities as required.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment reliability, maintenance practices and operational processes.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, industry standards and site safety requirements.

  • Represent Technica Measurement professionally on client sites.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems (electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical).

  • Calibrate and test instruments such as pressure transmitters and gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and level devices.

  • Trip/SIF/IPS testing and maintaining safety systems to IEC 61511 standards.

  • Fire & Gas testing/repairs on Wormald and Protex systems.

  • Complete Hazardous area inspections as required.

  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues to restore equipment functionality.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

  • Responsible for site Test Equipment, including ensuring equipment within calibration and recording of certification, etc.

  • Produce RAMS (Risk assessment Method Statements).

  • Update and produce site procedures.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

Essentials

​

  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

  • CompEx 01 – 04 Qualification.

  • Experience working with instrumentation and control systems in hydrocarbon, process, or industrial production environments.

  • Sound knowledge of process instrumentation, control systems, and safety systems, including Fire & Gas and ESD systems.

  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, isolations, and hazardous area working practices.

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including cause and effect logic diagrams.

  • Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.

  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Competent in the use of CMMS and standard IT applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).

​

Desirable Experience / Certifications
 

  • TSBT01 & TSBT02 Qualification.

  • Experience with Foxboro IA DCS and HIMA Sella ESD systems.

  • Experience using Q4 or similar CMMS platforms.
